Some management theories believes that Muslim organizations have western culture and Muslim executive have internalised western values; some orgnizational theories hold a diametrically opposite view that Muslims as a community and Muslim executives as well have not given up Islamic values and their companies definitely have a strong imprint of Islamic culture. To fathom the depths of Muslim organizations and to demystify the prevailing corporate culture, this study was designed. This research investigated the internalization and application of value systems–Islamic and western–of Muslim executives in their Organizations located in countries like Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, Malaysia, Indonesia and Saudi Arabia. Further this study has also brought out all those personal values which have transcended the organizational boundaries, i.e. those values which are instrumental in shaping the corporate culture. The question of the impact of executives’ values on the styles of management was investigated as well. The findings are presented in this book.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Mohammed Galib Hussain

Mohammed Galib Hussain , an eminent management thinker who founded the whole movement that is now called Islamic management thought. He holds a coctorate from the University of Madras. He has teaching and research experience of thirty-four years. He has authored four research books on various aspects of business management. He has published papers in national and international journals and presented papers in national/ international conference. He is a prolific writer and a columnist. As a corporate trainer, he conducts management development programs for the executives. Currently he is the Head of Department of Corporate Secretaryship, Islamiah College, Vaniyambadi (Tamil Nadu).

ABOUT THE AUTHOR S. Abdul Sajid

Dr. S. Abdul Sajid, Associate Professor of Commerce, C. Abdul Hakeem College, Melvisharam (Tamil Nadu), has a teaching experience of twenty years.  His area of interest is organizational behaviour.  He has presented papers in national seminars and trained the management students.  He holds a Ph. D. from the University of Madras.  His seminal contribution to the Islamic thought and management is well recognized in the academic circles.
