India has made rapid development since 1990. Its GDP growth rate is second to China only and is poised to be a super power in the coming decades. However, there is deterioration in our ethical standards. Consequently, we not happier as compared to our forefathers in spite of their low level of income. There are some major ethical problems that India faces and which pose a great threat to our social and economic life, and hampers our further development. These problems include corruption, unethical practices in production and marketing, recurring scandals and scams in financial and stock markets, terrorism and violence, environmental degradation and overall downfall in our ethical standards. India has not been able to formulate a model of development based on our ethics and hence these problems are raising their ugly heads. The present book deals with all these issues and makes an effort to suggest the way out.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR S D Chamola

Dr. S D Chamola did his M.A. and Ph.D in Economics from the Punjab University, Chandigarh. He retired as Professor and Head, Department of Economics and Business Management, CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hissar. He has also more than 150 research papers to his credit which were published in verious journals in India and abroad.
