Once, the Indian sub-continent was a treasure trove, teeming with riches and natural resources, coveted by most of the world. While some invaders crossed its boundaries only to plunder and steal, others came and made it their home.

The India we know today is riddled with battle-scars that remind us of the heroes who defended her with their lives. Some of them were kings and queens, fighting to protect their kingdoms from powerful invaders or from conquering neighbouring provinces. Others were ordinary individuals, martyred while fighting for the freedom of the nation.

This Amar Chitra Katha collection offers glimpses from the lives of these unforgettable figures.
